The name Enkare Wild comes from the Maasai word Enkare, meaning water—the source of life. With water at the core of everything we do, our philosophy became simple: “The Quest for Life.” Whether tracking big game across the savanna or casting into pristine, uncharted waters, every experience is about immersing yourself in the natural world in its purest form.

For over 70 years, the Russell family has been deeply involved in tourism and conservation across East Africa, from guiding safaris to running lodges and camps in some of the region’s most spectacular wilderness areas. With this came knowledge, experience, and a deep respect for the land, all of which shape the journeys we create today. As the family’s story evolved, so did a passion for fishing—particularly fly fishing. The pursuit of world-class fishing naturally led to the most remote, untouched waters, where the wild still thrives.
